How to Attract More Customers & Set Your Business Apart

Everyone needs a photographer!

As an entrepreneur myself I have ridden the customer acquisition roller coaster. When I leaped into this career I wasn't prepared for where it would take me, those whom I would meet and what types of photography might find me.

During this journey, I have found out that Kansas City is a hub for entrepreneurs, free thinkers, creative types, artists and people who push the limits of what already exists. I find this to be excruciatingly exciting. We have some amazing things happening.

What this also means, though, is, you are not alone.

There are a lot of:

T-shirt companies, new coffee shops, restaurants, bakers, stylists, MUA... basically the list is endless.

How will you stand out from being just another one of those guys?

Photography. Yes, I know, clearly I would say that, but most companies just focus on the product.

They will pose them as a stand-alone object or in a group.

However, what a lot of business-minded people forget is that most buyers want to be connected to great things. A connection can happen by simply seeing the maker, creator, thinker, or business person in action perfecting their craft and living the dream. When someone can see the tedious labor put into the craft, they are more likely to be repeat customers.

What I can do for you!

My job is to capture businesses from a rare vantage point, behind the scenes.

  •  Photographing the creation in progress in a documentary, lifestyle setting.
  •  Telling a story with photography is not only cost effective over a video but the photos themselves are more versatile.

They can be used for:

  • printed materials
  • online business needs on your website and blog
  • As well as on all of your social media, which has become a huge marketing tool.

All types of photos are important for your brand. You are what already sets yourself apart from everyone else, so share it! With high quality, personalized images!

Senior Rep Search

If you have a High School Senior and you live in the Kansas City Metro Area then you will want to read this! Maybe you know someone who does, Share this with them.

By now your teenager is about to graduate high school and you are wondering where the time has gone. They can't possibly be all grown-up and deciding whether they are going on to college or into the workforce, can they?

These moments are really flying by. While it seems like any picture is just a fine way to capture their last moments of being in high school, I am here to tell you, they aren't.

I really enjoy working with teenagers. Yes, even the shy ones and the ones who would rather be on their cellphone texting or snap chatting than being told what to do in front of a stranger with a camera. Maybe it's because I am a big kid at heart still and I can totally relate to them.

Now, what about the brand representative program? Ah, yes.

I know that high school seniors are completely in-tune with social media and capturing other teenagers attention with the "Must-Have" things.

So, I am offering limited spots to FIVE (5) local high school seniors to represent

Rebecca Lassiter Photography as the must-go-to photographer for seniors portraits.

For anyone interested in this opportunity, contact me.

In the subject line include: I Have What it Takes to Rep Your Brand!

I will reply with a questionnaire for the senior to fill out so I make my pick. If your senior is chosen, they will have 1-week to reply back accepting the position.

They will have a chance to earn a variety of different products from their own senior session with me.

Q/A:

Is being a senior rep difficult?

Nope. It's pretty easy. Senior reps will get personalized swag to wear and to hand out to other high school seniors. Each rep will receive a personalized code so I how clients were referred to my studio.

Does it cost anything to be a Senior Rep?

No, the only cost will incur from your personal senior photo session. Sessions are $180 and the ONLY way to earn beautiful prints is through the senior rep program. It's a Win-Win.

Can Someone be kicked out of the Senior Rep program?

Yes. While I prefer this never be the case, there are some things that would be cause for concern. Through a clearly written term of agreement of the program, both the senior and their parents will have a chance to look over the program guidelines and ways of earning product.

Lifestyle Photography

I kind of want to cry because winter has truly arrived.  I do not like to be cold.  I am the person who needs sunshine, who wants to be outside watching my kids play on the swing set, taking walks after dinner.  I have found some beautiful spots to photograph and I want spring to come quickly so I can take my clients to these amazing sites and help them create amazing images to keep for a lifetime. That being said.  It is winter and Lifestyle photography is the perfect thing to explore during the winter.

What is Lifestyle Photography?

It is photography that is generally captured in the clients home, non posed and with out stress

The house is the backdrop, usually parents bedroom or kids bedroom, living room (get creative with space)

What kind of Pictures do you take in these sessions?

Take pictures of kids reading, parents reading to kids, kids reading to siblings, kids and pets, kids playing with toys,

bath time *with lots of bubbles and nothing exposed, safety first*

These pictures are a snapshot of a day in the client in their home. Ironically the kids tend to mind better and be on their best behavior during these sessions. I had a mom jokingly ask me to stay once because her kiddo was acting so good while I was there.

Benefits of Lifestyle Photography?

Less Stress - No one is running around worried they left something at home for the photo shoot

When the kids get hungry, which is inevitable, you are home and can get them a snack

If they want to get a toy, they can, they are home

If they need a bottle, a diaper change, are being potty trained and you are concerned about the traveling during this time... you are home.

Are all photographers created equal?

Nope, no we aren't. Just like with any trade some specialize in a certain area of the trade than the other. You need to look at their work. Some times you will find that a photographer is new to the world of photography as business and their work is growing. Make sure their work is GROWING, IMPROVING. If they are and you LOVE their work then make sure they understand indoor lighting.

Just because someone charges a lot of money does NOT mean they are the best or are good for that matter, so do your home work.

Same with the opposite. Just because someone isn't expensive doesn't mean they aren't creating lovely works of art.

You need to look at their work and see if you like what they are doing.

Also, message them, call them, or email them and see how they are with communication. If they are easy to talk to then, good. If you feel like they are hard to reach or you difficult to communicate with then maybe they aren't someone you want to do business with.

I would love some feedback, have you done a Lifestyle shoot? What was your experience?

My First Post

Thank you for coming to visit my page!

First of all, I love my job, I love meeting so many new people and I love getting to know my clients. I am not sure how much I will actually blog. Maybe after my trip to India in a few weeks I will have some reflections about all of the different images I am able to capture on that trip.

Until next time

Rebecca
